My Mortgage Blog

My clients sometimes ask for suggestions to trustworthy service providers to help them buy a home. These other professionals make up your home buying team! Behind the scenes, the team works together to coordinate a smooth transaction. This works especially well when those professionals are experienced and customer-service focused.

I enjoy getting to know other professionals in the real estate industry and have built a solid network in Halifax. Plus, as my military clients move from province to province, I've gotten to know professionals across Canada. It can be daunting for home buyers moving to a new area without connections of their own, so I've developed a network for military families to talk to each other and other service providers who have connection with the military.

Once you've met with me and we've determined your eligibility for a mortgage, you'll want to get in touch with a Realtor. After you've found your house and the seller's have accepted your offer, you'll want to reach out to a Real Estate Lawyer, Home Inspector and Home Insurance Agent

If you're hoping to complete renovations on your new home, consult a Contractor for an estimate to include in your mortgage (that's called Purchase Plus Improvements!).

After your house transaction closes and you're all settled in, I would suggest reaching out to an Investment Consultant and Life Insurance Advisor to revisit your financial plan and protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances.

Next, you may want to consider an appointment with a Wills & Estates Lawyer to ensure the proper documentation is in place to look after your estate.

Know someone great? I'm always on the lookout for great people. Send me a message with your suggestion!
