Many of my mortgage clients are military families just like my family! I polled military families for their top tips for being posted to major military bases across Canada.
Top 5 Tips for Posting to Shilo
- Amenities are spread out wide across the region. Be prepared to plan out your shopping trips. Some civilian medical services will be in Brandon or Winnipeg.
- The outer communities may have more property and house for the value. Be sure to check into the location of the schools as some have a longer commute via the school bus.
- Winter tires are a must have!
- The MFRC has excellent programs, be sure to take advantage. On base there's a splash park, bowling ally, soccer, hockey and swimming. Everything on the base is within walking distance from the PMQ's.
- The CANEX is well stocked, and includes a doctor's office.
